Evans is currently climbing the U.S. Country charts with “Day Drunk” – his “bright as sunshine” (MusicRow) follow-up to GOLD-certified #1 hit “Kiss Somebody.” “Day Drunk” spent 25 consecutive weeks at #1 on Country radio in Australia and 2 weeks at #1 on Pop radio, topping the TMN Hot 100 airplay chart. Adding to the global impact, the track recently took home the title of Country Work of the Year at the 2019 APRA Music Awards (Australia’s version of PRO awards), after being awarded Single of the Year at Australia’s Golden Guitar Awards. Evans recently used the single in “Day Drunk on Tequila,” his latest musical mash-up featuring label-mate Dan + Shay’s smash “Tequila.” Rolling Stonepraises its “spine-tingling three-part harmonies” while The Boot applauds his use of “studio trickery and lyrical ingenuity.” Watch “Day Drunk on Tequila” HERE.
Evans has released a new rendition of “Things That We Drink To,” the title track for his debut U.S. album, out now. Accompanied only by piano and violin, the emotional, scaled-down performance highlights the song’s powerful lyrics, penned as a tribute to his late manager Rob Potts. Watch “Things That We Drink To” (Piano + Violin Version) HERE.
Chronicling his two-year journey since moving to America from Australia, THINGS THAT WE DRINK TO features 11 tracks co-penned by Evans, who also plays instruments heard on every song. The album put him on the map as one of the genre’s most promising new talents. Dubbed “the Nashville Sensation” by PEOPLE, who also named him to their elite “Ones To Watch” list, Evans also claimed a place on emerging artist lists by Billboard, Pandora, SiriusXM, Rolling Stone, The Tennessean and more.
