BIG LOUD RECORDS RAISES A GLASS TO FIVE-YEAR MILESTONE
Shaking up Nashville’s iconic Music Row since 2015, music business game-changer BIG LOUD toasts its no-holds-barred RECORDS division as it celebrated its five-year anniversary last Saturday (8/1).
“It’s been a wild five years and we’re just getting started,” shares Seth England, Partner/CEO of Big Loud. “Craig [Wiseman], Joey [Moi], and I, feel honored each day to get to work with such an incredible Big Loud family – from our artists to our team – and can’t wait to keep it going. Here’s to many more years of Big Loud music.”
Adding to the festivities, key media outlets like The Tennessean (The Pick), Billboard, and American Songwriter, among others, highlighted Big Loud Partners Seth England, Craig Wiseman, and Joey Moi, commemorating the instant success story of an independent label that struck #1 right out of the gate with their first-ever release, then-newcomer Chris Lane’s GOLD breakout, “Fix.” Launched as an expansion of Big Loud’s Publishing and Management divisions in 2015, Big Loud was founded by GRAMMY Award-winning songwriter Wiseman – originally named Big Loud Shirt Publishing – in 2003.
Recently reigning on MusicRow’s Top Songwriter Chart for 11 consecutive weeks, Wiseman continues to set a songwriting precedent, scoring two new #1s with Kenny Chesney’s “Here And Now” and Morgan Wallen’s PLATINUM “Chasin’ You” – this not only notched him having career #1s in four straight decades but is Big Loud’s first top-charter as a company with an artist signed to Big Loud Management, Big Loud Publishing, and Big Loud Records. Moi has also been instrumental in creating the Big Loud sound while solidifying himself as a top-shelf producer, ruling Billboard’s Country Producers chart for seven consecutive weeks (tallying 14 career weeks at #1) just this spring, and finishing multiple years (2013, 2014, 2016) as Billboard’s #1 Hot Country Songs Producer of the Year. He is currently nominated for Producer of the Year at the 55th ACM Awards®. Moreover, England serves as an integral part of the company as Big Loud’s CEO, having started over a decade ago with Wiseman as an intern. Pivotal to the rise of both talent and team, he is backed by years-worth of business accolades, stacking Billboard’s Indie Power Players and Country Power Players nods, as well as appearances on Billboard’s 40 Under 40, Variety’s Hitmakers and Music City Impact Report.
Big Loud Records has scored seven best-selling #1 hits with Wallen (“Chasin’ You,” “Whiskey Glasses,” “Up Down” ft. Florida Georgia Line), Jake Owen (“Homemade,” “I Was Jack (You Were Diane)”), and Lane (“I Don’t Know About You,” “Fix”), while racking up multiple GOLD and PLATINUM certifications and tallying more than 5 BILLION global streams to date. Bursting at the seams with big, loud, voices, the roster champions Wallen, Owen, and Lane, alongside HARDY, Mason Ramsey, MacKenzie Porter, ERNEST, Ben Burgess, Ashland Craft, Larry Fleet, and Sean Stemaly. Staking claim as a cutting-edge innovator, Big Loud Records keeps reaching new heights in bold endeavors like partnering with ACM Award-winning songwriter Nicolle Galyon to establish Nashville’s first-of-its-kind female-driven label Songs & Daughters with artists Madison Kozak and Hailey Whitters, plus songwriter Tiera under its Publishing arm [in partnership with Big Loud Publishing / Warner Chappell Music] – that just marked its first year last month. The leading label has also announced the countrified music-lifestyle brand HiXTAPE, inspired by heavy-hitter HARDY’s HiXTAPE, VOL. 1.
Big Loud Records’ leadership team includes Austen Adams (COO), Lloyd Aur Norman (VP of Special Projects & Strategic Management), Stacy Blythe (VP of Promotion), Brianne Deslippe (VP of Promotion – Canada), Patch Culbertson (VP of A&R), Candice Watkins (VP of Marketing), Paul Logan (VP of Sync and Visual Strategy), Tori Johnson (Sr. Director of Creative & Digital), and Ben Skipworth (Sr. Director of Creative & Video). The Records division is the #1 streaming market shareholder among true independent Country labels and #6 overall (Country currents YTD, Nielsen Music). Further garnering industry recognition, Blythe was awarded the top honor for SVP/VP at the 2019 CRS/Country Aircheck Awards. In addition to a bevy of honors across the team, Culbertson is featured as part of Billboard’s 2020 Indie Power Players.
