BIG LOUD RECORDS ADDS DUANE HOBSON AS NEW DIRECTOR OF PROMOTION (SOUTHEAST)
Big Loud Records continues to build its high-caliber promotion team, today welcoming Duane Hobson as its Director of Promotion (Southeast).
Joining a label known as one of Nashville’s most innovative, Hobson brings two decades of expertise to his new role and will now support Big Loud’s trailblazing roster of talent in the Southeast region. Reporting to SVP of Promotion, Stacy Blythe, Hobson can be reached here.
“It’s an honor to join a company that invests heavily in the individuals and in the culture that they have come to be known for,” shares Hobson. “I’m looking forward to being on the front lines daily in the Southeast representing this amazing artist roster with Big Loud Records.”
A Nashville, TN, native and longtime artists-and-repertoire expert, Hobson’s background dovetails perfectly with the Big Loud mission and the firm’s outside-the-box approach. Well versed in connecting artist and audience with the perfect message, he’s spent more than 20 years making an impact on many high-profile organizations.
After graduating from Nashville State Community College, Hobson went on to serve in various A&R capacities with RCA Records, Sony/BMG, and Sony Music Nashville. From there he spent time in the Southeast’s celebrated university system, handling A&R Industry Consultant duties for the University of Georgia’s Music Business Department, as well as Kennesaw State University’s Joel A. Katz Music and Entertainment Business Program.
Most recently, Hobson worked as A&R Collaborative Manager / Tour Manager at Edge Artist Management, and has also consulted for Intercept Music, as well as numerous independent artists and producers. But his fresh position offers a new challenge, and a roster of emerging chart-toppers to advocate.
“I’ve been waiting quite some time to have a spot on this team for Duane [Hobson]. He’s already beloved in our industry and we are honored that he chose Big Loud Records as the home for his return,” shares Blythe. “Duane’s passion and positivity are abounding, and I know our radio friends in the Southeast are going to love him.”
Working alongside fellow Director of Promotion (Southeast), Sarah Headley, Hobson will work to promote the red-hot Big Loud roster across the Southeast. The pair take over from former regional director Tyler Waugh, who was elevated to National Director Promotion earlier this summer. That move was paired with a number of other promotions – including Blythe’s rise to SVP – all of which served to support Big Loud’s unparalleled growth.
With every division of the visionary independent firm building momentum, Big Loud’s bold roster is one of hottest in Nashville. It now includes Morgan Wallen, Jake Owen, Chris Lane, HARDY, Mason Ramsey, MacKenzie Porter, ERNEST, Ben Burgess, Ashland Craft, Larry Fleet, Sean Stemaly, Shawn Austin, Blame My Youth, and Lily Rose, plus Hailey Whitters and Madison Kozak on Songs & Daughters.
