Inspired by RaeLynn's daughter Daisy, who turned one year old in September, "Raisin' Me A Country Girl" is a must-listen for any Southern parent. Produced by Corey Crowder, the twangy track was written by RaeLynn alongside Rhett Akins and Will Bundy and features a laundry list of RaeLynn's down-home hopes for her daughter, including drinking from the water hose, picking berries on the farm, watching football and becoming a fan of fishing.
"She's sweet as sugar but tough as nails / Loving her daddy but giving boys hell," RaeLynn sings. "She didn't fall far from the tree / Every day you'll see a little more me / Yeah I'm on my knees every night praying / Thanking God I'm raisin' me a country girl." The song also namechecks RaeLynn's dog, Dolly, who will soon find herself in the passenger seat of Daisy's Barbie Jeep while the two get "stuck in the creek."
"Growing up in Texas, I was always outside playing in the dirt, rocking a sundress with my dog and even a couple of goats," RaeLynn shares. "The values expressed in this song were instilled in me at a very young age, and now I want to pass them on to my daughter. I love 'Raisin' Me A Country Girl' because it celebrates being strong, and that's what I want Daisy to be - a strong, sweet, tough girl who knows what matters most in life."
"Raisin' Me A Country Girl" is the latest in a series of new songs from RaeLynn, following her May releases "I Love My Hometown" and "If God Took Days Off." All three tracks are part of the Texas native's latest musical chapter, which follows her sophomore album, BAYTOWN, which dropped in September 2021 and has amassed over 100 MILLION streams. Over the summer, RaeLynn opened for Kane Brown on his BLESSED & FREE TOUR. Tickets for RaeLynn's Grand Ole Opry performance can be found here.
