Chess features a series of stripped-down songs — "Under Your Influence," "Love Someone," "Cigarette" and "Chess." Each track showcases Honey County's soaring melodies and unique sound, a blend of contemporary Country and timeless Pop/Rock. Every song on Chess has been featured on Paramount Network's hit TV show Yellowstone across Seasons 2, 3 and 4.
In addition to the acoustic tracks, the EP includes a bonus reimagined full band version of the title number, infusing the song with even more grit and power. The rowdy Country Rock moment was featured in Season 4 of Yellowstone in a major scene with Kevin Costner's John Dutton. "Chess" is about a girl who isn't looking for a fight, but when she's challenged in a bar, she's forced into it, a reflection of the experience John Dutton has in a diner on Yellowstone.
Dani Rose, lead singer of Honey County, shared, "I'm really excited for people to hear the songs stripped down and in their purest form." She further expressed, "I've been so lucky to be a part of the Yellowstone family and am grateful to Taylor Sheridan, Andrea Von Foerster and Sabrina Del Piore at Paramount for their love and support!"
