SOPHIA SCOTT SINGS THE PRAISES OF GUILTY PLEASURES ON FIERY NEW SINGLE “BOOTS, JEANS, AND JESUS” – OUT NOW

Today, up-and-coming Country sensation Sophia Scott shares her scorching new single, “Boots, Jeans, and Jesus.” A girls-night-out anthem primed for summer’s peak, “Boots, Jeans, and Jesus” is the first glimpse at the Boulder, Colorado-bred singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist’s highly anticipated debut album. Go here to stream/download “Boots, Jeans, and Jesus” now.

A powerful showcase for Scott’s straight-from-the-heart songwriting and bold but vulnerable vocal work, “Boots, Jeans, and Jesus” tells the tale of lust at first sight and all the internal conflict that comes with it. With her signature mix of sly humor, deeply felt honesty, and irresistibly clever wordplay, the Nashville-based artist captures the thrill and danger of temptation with an unforgettable originality (from the pre-chorus: “I’m cowboy-crazy, pickin’ petals off a daisy, thinkin’ things that ain’t ladylike”). Built on a sparse but potent backdrop of smoldering guitar riffs and hard-driving rhythms, the strutting yet soulful track adorns Scott’s sharply detailed storytelling with so many playful flourishes (bright handclaps, rowdy gang vocals, an infectiously carefree whistle). The result: two and a half minutes of pure unbridled fun, turning Scott’s barstool confession into a fiery statement of unapologetic freedom. Watch the audio video here.

Scott tells Holler, who had a first listen to the cheeky new track, “We’ve all been in that place where you’re fighting the temptation to do something you shouldn’t. This is basically about trying to fight the urge to fall for the bad boy who I know is going to bring me nothing but trouble.” Read the full story here.

Co-written by Scott, Nolan Sipe, and Sam Martinez (who also produced the track), “Boots, Jeans, and Jesus” doubles down on the larger-than-life personality and boundless musicality Scott has brought to past efforts like her 2022 debut EP One Of These Days (listen here). Along with spotlighting her one-of-a-kind sound (hailed by Holler as a “distinctive blend of powerhouse R&B, poppy west coast rock and traditional country”), the EP finds Scott opening up about such complex topics as watching friends and family struggle with addiction (on “Side Effects,” a poignant ballad that struck a major chord on TikTok and inspired many users to share their own stories). In addition, the six-track project includes wildly uplifting tracks like “More Me,” a dance-ready anthem that debuted on Spotify’s New Music Nashville and later graced the platform’s Next From Nashville playlist. Prior to the arrival of One Of These Days, Scott made waves with such triumphs as opening for the Jonas Brothers in Nashville, landing on PEOPLE Magazine’s “artists to watch” list, and delivering a captivating performance of the EP’s title track on The Kelly Clarkson Show. Her debut album is due out later this year.
