Capping off a whirlwind week, rising superstar Megan Moroney stacked multiple TV debuts and major profile features. Ahead of “The 57th Annual CMA Awards” on Wednesday (11/8), she performed for the first time on ABC’s Good Morning America, with breakout hit “Tennessee Orange” and current single “I’m Not Pretty,” plus caught up with ABC News' Ginger Zee about her CMA nominations and her transition from the accounting career track to “emo cowgirl.” Moroney also appeared on GMA3: What You Need to Know for a chat with GMA3 hosts Eva Pilgrim and Dr. Jennifer Ashton before performing her emotional balled “Girl in the Mirror.”
Continuing the day of debuts, Moroney took the CMA Awards stage with Old Dominion for their collaboration, “Can’t Break Up Now,” with American Songwriter claiming the group paired “like red wine and aged brie,” and Country Now touting the performance as “dreamy.” She also made a statement on the red carpet with her bold, red custom Stefanie Naylor dress and curated Charlotte Tilbury beauty look that landed Moroney on several “Best Dressed” lists including PEOPLE, Life & Style, The Tennessean, INSIDER, Just Jared, and more. With PEOPLE claiming, “the rising country star definitely stands out as a best dressed of the night,” Moroney brought the entertainment outlet exclusively behind-the-scenes as she glammed up for the big night. Amassing acclaim, the Los Angeles Times profiled Moroney’s meteoric rise, applauding her “songwriting talent and the soulful scrape in her voice — not to mention the clever way she toys with the presentation of gender — that distinguish her now that she’s arrived.” Read the full story here.
Since the release of her wildly popular debut album LUCKY (Sony Music Nashville/Columbia Records), on which she co-wrote every song, Moroney has skyrocketed to stardom. The project landed on Rolling Stone’s “The Best Albums of 2023 So Far” and climbed to #38 on the Billboard 200. Most recently, she earned recognition as a 2023 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) finalist for Top Country Female Artist (alongside Taylor Swift and Lainey Wilson). Tune in Sunday, November 19 via @BBMAs, @billboard and bbmas.watch.
Adding to her LUCKY era, LUCKY (DELUXE) is out now and features three brand-new songs, including guest spots from fellow Nashville-based singer-songwriters Kameron Marlowe and Mackenzie Carpenter. In addition, the highly awaited vinyl edition of LUCKY (DELUXE) is available here.
Currently on her SOLD-OUT THE LUCKY TOUR, Moroney is proving why she is an in-demand headliner, with stops at major cities and iconic venues coast-to-coast, including New York City (Bowery Ballroom), Chicago (Joe's on Weed St.), Los Angeles (Troubadour), and New Braunfels, TX (Gruene Hall). She’ll then join Kenny Chesney’s SUN GOES DOWN 2024 TOUR next spring. For all upcoming tour dates and information, visit here.
