RECORDS Nashville artist-songwriter George Birge launched his new single “Cowboy Songs” with massive support from Country radio this week, catapulting the track to one of the most-added songs across the nation.
With 75 stations adding “Cowboy Songs” to their rotation, the feat signals sustained momentum for a rising star whose breakout debut “Mind On You” hit #1 at the top of 2024. Listen to “Cowboy Songs” here and watch the track’s official music video.
A stormy power anthem co-written by Birge himself, “Cowboy Songs” now marks the start of a new chapter for the Texas native. Telling an age-old tale of whiskey-fueled passion under neon lights, the heart-pounding melody matches Birge’s electrifying vocal with a dusky modern twang, and has already been hailed by Billboard as “likely to become Birge’s second ‘three minutes of magic’.”
“I’ve dreamed about this day since I first wrote ‘Cowboy Songs',” Birge explains. “It is my favorite song that I have ever written, and there is something that is just larger than life and unbelievably validating about hearing your song on the radio. I can’t thank my friends at Country radio enough for believing in me and this song. I'm excited to see where it goes from here.”
Its strong first-week showing finds Country radio doubling down after welcoming Birge with open arms – even naming the emerging hitmaker to the coveted New Faces of Country Music showcase at the 2024 Country Radio Seminar. Seen as a huge vote of confidence from the national alliance of influential radio programmers, the honor has previously gone to now-superstars like Jelly Roll, Luke Combs, Luke Bryan and many others, and places Birge on the fast track to continued success.
Meanwhile, Birge continues to take his music to fans on the road. The newly minted chart-topper is currently supporting Parker McCollum’s BURN IT DOWN TOUR 2024, with select shows all across the U.S. ending June 1 in Jacksonville, Florida. He’ll then join Luke Bryan for the superstar’s MIND OF A COUNTRY BOY TOUR starting August 8, with more nationwide dates scheduled through the end of summer. See here for full list of tour stops.
