LEGENDARY ARTIST UNCLE KRACKER RETURNS WITH BREEZY NEW SINGLE “BEACH CHAIR” ON 5/24

For more than two decades, the MULTI-PLATINUM artist Uncle Kracker has defied convention, serving up one genre-busting hit after another. His amalgamation of Country, Pop and Rock with a dash of Hip-Hop flair has led to seminal smash hits soundtracking feel-good moments for millions of his dedicated fans. Now, just in time for summer, he returns with the breezy new island-flavored single “Beach Chair,” out on May 24 via Sturgeon General Records. Pre-save/pre-add here.

The perfect accompaniment to kicking back and lounging by the water, “Beach Chair” finds Uncle Kracker at his most chill, mellow and laid-back: “Somewhere there’s a beach chair in the warm air/And a cold beer with my name on it,” he sings, and you’re instantly transported right beside him to a carefree day by the sand and waves.

Written by Uncle Kracker (Matthew Shafer), Joe Benke and Greg Schleicher, “Beach Chair” is the latest in a long history of feel-good tunes the acclaimed singer has offered up over the years. Produced by Josh Bright, the release comes at a meteoric time in Uncle Kracker's career as he has been playing to stadium-filled crowds on Kenny Chesney's SUN GOES DOWN 2024 TOUR.

Starting with his solo debut, 2000’s Double Wide, and its PLATINUM single “Follow Me,” which hit No. 1 in four countries, Uncle Kracker has been on a quest to deliver the musical goods at every turn. In 2004, Uncle Kracker’s 2X PLATINUM “When the Sun Goes Down” [with Kenny Chesney] vaulted to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks Chart. He’s also released such classics as his lauded cover of Dobie Gray’s “Drift Away,” which logged 28 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on Adult Contemporary Radio. Following his most recent LP, 2012’s Country album Midnight Special, Uncle Kracker has delivered singles such as “Endlessly,” “Floatin’” and “No Time To Be Sober.”

Never taking his foot off the gas, Uncle Kracker has released a string of sweet new songs in recent times, including “Sweet 16,” “Reason To Drink” and “Cruising Altitude.” A brand-new Uncle Kracker album is expected to be released later this year.

Uncle Kracker cuts right to the chase. He knows people want to kick back, forget about their troubles, and have a good time, so he’s always willing to oblige. For over two decades, the MULTI-PLATINUM artist has consistently soundtracked such good times with his boldly breezy blend of Country, Pop, and Rock spiked with a splash of Hip-Hop. The world initially met Uncle Kracker during his stint in Kid Rock’s Twisted Brown Trucker Band, lending his songwriting and musical acumen to seven cuts off the RIAA DIAMOND-certified Devil Without A Cause. However, fans fell in love with him on his solo debut Double Wide in 2000. It not only crashed the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 at #7, but it also picked up a 2X PLATINUM certification and paved the way for the GOLD-certified follow-up No Stranger To Shame [2002]. He has impressively notched #1 entries in three different genre lanes, topping Pop, Adult Contemporary, and Country charts. The PLATINUM “Follow Me” clinched #1 in four countries, while the 2X PLATINUM “When The Sun Goes Down” [with Kenny Chesney] vaulted to #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks Chart. He made history with his cover of Dobie Gray’s “Drift Away.” It logged 28 consecutive weeks at #1 on Adult Contemporary Radio, earning “the most weeks atop any Billboard chart.” Meanwhile, “Smile” shined across culture. It reached 3X PLATINUM status and landed dozens of syncs, including a spot for The Office and a tribute montage to Regis Philbin on his final episode of Live With Regis & Kelly. Following 2012’s Country album Midnight Special, he served up singles such as “Endlessly,” “Floatin’,” and “No Time To Be Sober.” Continuing to create new music, recent releases include “Sweet 16,” “Reason To Drink,” and, “Cruising Altitude,” with a brand-new album expected to drop later this year.
