MEGAN MORONEY APPEARS AS GUEST ON HIT PODCAST CALL HER DADDY – CAN’T-MISS EPISODE OUT NOW

Sony Music Nashville/Columbia Records singer/songwriter Megan Moroney is the latest superstar guest on Call Her Daddy — the world’s most listened-to podcast among women. Out today, Moroney’s Call Her Daddy episode arrives just days after her widely acclaimed sophomore album Am I Okay? debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 (the definitive all-genre chart for U.S. album sales). Go here to check out the episode now.

With her appearance on Call Her Daddy, Moroney joins the ranks of iconic past guests like Miley Cyrus, Gwyneth Paltrow, RuPaul, Simone Biles, Jane Fonda, and many more. For two years in a row, Call Her Daddy has landed at No. 2 on Spotify’s list of the top podcasts across the globe, thanks in large part to host Alex Cooper’s uninhibited approach to hot-button topics like dating and mental health and deep commitment to “asking the burning questions you want the answers to.”

Riding high off Am I Okay?’s massive success — including earning the fifth-biggest Country debut of 2024 and the year’s third-biggest debut from a female Country artist, after Beyoncé and Kacey Musgraves — Moroney also recently sat down with E! News’ Keltie Knight and Access Daily’s Mario and Courtney Lopez. Along with discussing her new album, the Georgia-bred artist opened up about appearing on the soundtrack to the box-office-dominating Twisters, connecting with Pop heavy-hitters Olivia Rodrigo and Lana Del Rey, the story behind her nickname “the Emo Cowgirl,” and much more.

Released on July 12, Am I Okay? scored the No. 3 spot on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and amassed nearly 43K in consumption units in its first week (including 37.6 MILLION streams). With its tracklist including “No Caller ID” (a fan favorite that set the record for the biggest Country female song debut in streams in the U.S., racking up 8.4 MILLION global streams in its first week alone), the album marks the follow-up to Moroney’s blockbuster debut Lucky — a 2023 LP featured on best-of-the-year lists from The New York Times and Rolling Stone and delivered smash hits like the 2X PLATINUM, No. 1 breakout single “Tennessee Orange.” Since its arrival, Am I Okay? has won raves from many of the music world’s leading publications, including the print editions of American Songwriter and The New York TimesRolling StoneVarietyThe Tennessean, and Associated Press (who declared that “[y]ou’d be hard-pressed to find a more relatable voice in contemporary country music for young women”).

With three consecutive headline tours now under her belt, Moroney is currently performing at stadiums across the country as support for Kenny Chesney’s SUN GOES DOWN 2024 TOUR and gearing up to take the stage at Lollapalooza this weekend. In September, she’ll head overseas for the GEORGIA GIRL TOUR —  a 15-date headlining run of the UK and Europe.

ABOUT MEGAN MORONEY:
A Country phenomenon with major star power and massive talent to match, Megan Moroney is the rare artist to earn icon status soon after breaking onto the scene. With nearly 1.5 BILLION total global streams to date, the Georgia-bred singer/songwriter kicks off the next era of her already-formidable career with her sophomore album Am I Okay?: a hugely anticipated body of work featuring the Emo Cowgirl’s widely beloved post-breakup ballad “No Caller ID,” which recently shattered the record for the biggest Country female song debut in streams in the U.S. The follow-up to her blockbuster 2023 debut LuckyAm I Okay? also includes “Man on the Moon” (a fun-loving, free-spirited bop), “Indifferent” (a stadium-sized Rock fueled anthem), and “28th of June” (a piano-driven stunner) — altogether offering what Moroney refers to as “Lucky’s cooler older cousin that can drink.” With production from her frequent collaborator Kristian Bush, Am I Okay? is the latest turn in a meteoric rise set in motion with “Tennessee Orange,” a 2X PLATINUM #1 hit that made Moroney one of only nine solo female Country artists this century to reach #1 with their debut single. Along with “Tennessee Orange,” Lucky delivered standouts like “I’m Not Pretty,” and turned up on best-of-the-year lists from leading outlets like The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Billboard, and Associated Press (who hailed her as a “Gen Z songwriter with Taylor Swift-level acuity”). After nabbing her first win at the 2023 CMT Music Awards (for Breakthrough Female Video of the Year), Moroney went on to win MusicRow’s Breakout Artist of the Year at the 2024 CountryBreakout Awards and New Female Artist of the Year at the 59th ACM Awards (where she reigned as the most nominated female artist with SIX NODS), in addition to racking up nominations from the CMA, iHeart, CMT Music, and Billboard Music Awards. With multiple sold-out headline tours now under her belt (including THE LUCKY 2.0 TOUR, which sold out in under five minutes), she’s currently playing stadiums across the country as support for superstar Kenny Chesney’s SUN GOES DOWN 2024 TOUR. After taking the stage at high-profile festivals like Stagecoach and Lollapalooza, Moroney will head overseas in September for the GEORGIA GIRL TOUR — a 15-date headlining run bringing her notoriously dazzling live show to audiences all over the UK and Europe.
