SOPHIA SCOTT TURNS UP THE SWAGGER ON SEDUCTIVE NEW SONG “BUY A ROUND”

Today, singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Sophia Scott returns with her brand-new song “Buy A Round” — a scorching-hot anthem about knowing what you want and going right after it. A bold new turn for the Colorado-bred artist, “Buy A Round” arrives as Scott gets set to make her Ryman Auditorium debut tonight supporting Niko MoonGo here to stream/download “Buy A Round” now.

“This song is about being shamelessly myself in a new era of life,” says Scott. “I’m single for the first time in 10 years, having fun again, owning my power, and being okay with getting into a little bit of harmless trouble. Life’s too short to be anything but exactly who you are, and right now I want to celebrate this moment of being slightly unhinged 😎. It won’t last forever.”

Co-written by ScottMags Duval (Teddy Swims, Alana Springsteen), Luke Niccoli (Gwen Stefani, Keith Urban), and Micah Premnath (Lady A, Ben Platt), “Buy A Round” opens with a bit of thrilling scene-setting that immediately pulls you deep into her world (“If I don't pick up the phone/Chances are I’m getting stoned/And only thing that I got on is Patsy Cline”). With equal parts soulful confidence and devil-may-care attitude, Scott turns up the swagger and fully lets loose at the track’s fiery chorus (“Dancing on the table/Horse is out the stable/Reputation ’bout to go south…Casanova coming over wants to know what I'm about/The way I’m feeling now/I might just let him buy a round and find out”).

Produced by Niccoli, “Buy A Round” matches Scott’s seductive storytelling with a guitar-heavy sound fueled by pulse-pounding drumbeats and hard-strutting grooves. Driven by a particularly powerful vocal performance from Scott, the song builds to a blazing intensity at the bridge, when her spoken-word delivery gives way to a gloriously raw guitar solo.

With more new music coming soon, “Buy A Round” has already received traction on socials with the teaser amassing over 2 MILLION views and is one of the first songs Scott has shared since her acclaimed debut album BARSTOOL CONFESSIONS (EMPIRE) — an October 2023 release that arrived the very same day as her Grand Ole Opry debut. Featuring standouts like “Boots, Jeans, & Jesus,” “Lipstick on You,” and “No You Didn’t,” BARSTOOL CONFESSIONS proved the tremendous depth of Scott’s songwriting and offered up a real-time account of recovering from life-changing heartbreak. Named a Pandora Artist To Watch 2024: Country and a 2024 Artist To Watch by Nashville Briefing, Scott recently kicked off her next chapter with the release of the rootsy and reflective “Wildflowers” in June.

As she continues her recent run as support for Niko Moon’s THESE ARE THE DAYS TOUR, Scott is also gearing up for her first-ever UK headline show, taking place at Colours Hoxton in London, UK on December 3 with Abbie Mac as support. Go here to check out Scott’s full tour schedule now.

ABOUT SOPHIA SCOTT:
Based in Nashville but raised in Colorado, Sophia Scott has blazed her own bold trail to Country stardom. With a rare gift for raw yet exquisitely detailed storytelling — and a one-of-a-kind sound infused with elements of Southern Rock, Pop, R&B, and Soul — the singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist has amassed over 127 MILLION career streams. Growing up in Boulder, she took up piano and guitar as a child and soon started composing songs of her own, then further developed her unforgettably candid songwriting voice upon kicking off her music career in Los Angeles. During her six years in L.A., Scott found early success with singles like 2018’s “White Fence” and 2019’s “Drink Too Much Wine” (both featured on coveted playlists like Spotify’s New Music Friday), but ultimately relocated to Nashville and immersed herself in sharpening her craft. A breakthrough year for Scott, 2021 brought such triumphs as opening for the Jonas Brothers, landing on an artists-to-watch list from People, and inking her record deal with EMPIRE Nashville. The fast-rising artist maintained that momentum throughout 2022, when she delivered her widely acclaimed debut EP One Of These Days — a six-song project that earned praise from American SongwriterE! NewsEntertainment Tonight, and CMT (who stated that “Nashville newcomer Sophia Scott proves she has a bright future ahead in the genre”) and explored such complex subjects as watching her loved ones struggle with addiction (on the fan-favorite “Side Effects”). Along with signing a global publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music and Ross Golan’s Unknown Music Publishing in 2022, Scott made her bucket list debut at the Grand Ole Opry the same day as the arrival of her debut album BARSTOOL CONFESSIONS (EMPIRE) — an October 2023 release that quickly received nods of approval from the likes of CMTTaste of CountryHollerMusicRow's DISClaimer, and more.
