ALANA SPRINGSTEEN FINDS HEALING IN ANTICIPATED RETURN TO THE GRAND OLE OPRY

After being welcomed by Luke Bryan to make her Grand Ole Opry debut in 2022, Columbia Records/Sony Music Nashville artist-songwriter Alana Springsteen returned to the circle on her 24th birthday this past Friday (10/18).

Just having fired up her boldest chapter yet with the two-song release of “cowboy / hold my beer” that morning, she first played “cowboy” to the packed house. Then, feeling moved to pray over the audience before continuing, Springsteen found a powerful moment of personal healing when introducing the first live performance of her unreleased song “love me anyway” – backed solo by legendary pedal steel player Tommy White.

“My heart needed last night at the Grand Ole Opry. My team surprised me with a Gold plaque for ‘goodbye looks good on you (feat. Mitchell Tenpenny),’ which still has me shook, it was my 24th birthday, the anniversary of my Opry debut AND ‘hold my beer’ and ‘cowboy’ release day,” shared Springsteen on Instagram. “But the one moment I know I won’t forget is praying in the circle with y’all before playing one of the most vulnerable songs I’ve ever written. A piece of me that I didn’t think would ever heal healed on that stage. It’s been two years since my debut and a very different girl showed up this time. A much braver one."

Again surprised by Bryan this summer while supporting him on tour with the news of her first RIAA GOLD-certified release, “goodbye looks good on you (feat. Mitchell Tenpenny)” (off her critically acclaimed 2023 debut album, TWENTY SOMETHING), Springsteen was further presented backstage with a plaque to commemorate the career milestone. While surrounded by her family, she was also able to connect with Tenpenny to celebrate her first RIAA certification with him via a FaceTime call. Watch here.
