In case you missed it, Country-Soul troubadour Drake White appeared on the The Kelly Clarkson Show today (10/25), joined by his wife Alex to share the riveting inspirational tale behind his new music.
On hand to discuss his latest full-length album, Low Country High Road, the acclaimed Alabama singer/songwriter told one of music’s most incredible stories.
Unpacking his on-stage stroke in 2019, challenging recovery and ultimate return to the life he loves, the two-part interview also explained how the family navigated infertility and welcomed son Hawk in 2023 – a five-year “rollercoaster” which has led to his White’s new album.

Released in September as White’s third studio album, Low Country High Road charts a new path forward for the long-loved star. Featuring standout tracks like the wisdom-laden “Life, Love and War,” the mischievous “10 Lbs of S#!T,” and Blues-and-Gospel-tinged “Faith,” the Southern Soul specialist traces the impact of his continued recovery with profound appreciation for life’s little miracles – including love, fatherhood, and more.
A powerfully heartfelt celebration of all that brings him joy, Low Country High Road is once again filled with richly detailed storytelling and plenty of feel-good grooves, with a rootsy (yet electrifying) sound helping ease the mind and lift the spirit over 13 songs, all co-written by White himself.
