MEGAN MORONEY DAZZLES WITH DEBUT PERFORMANCE ON NPR MUSIC’S TINY DESK CONCERT SERIES

In case you missed it, Sony Music Nashville/Columbia Records singer/songwriter Megan Moroney delivered a knockout performance on NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Concert series earlier today (3/7). Recorded live at NPR Music headquarters, the MULTI-PLATINUM superstar’s Tiny Desk debut served up a selection of greatest hits from her blockbuster debut album Lucky and its triumphant follow-up, Am I Okay?

In a perfect kickoff to her Tiny Desk set, Moroney opened with Lucky’s “I’m Not Pretty” — a PLATINUM-certified Country radio smash that landed on NPR Music’s “123 Best Songs of 2023” list, with legendary critic Ann Powers hailing the track as a “defiant account of love’s aftermath.” From there, the Emo Cowgirl moved into the heartbreaking slow burn of “No Caller ID,” a longtime fan-favorite that set the record for the biggest Country female song debut in streams in the U.S. when it premiered in January 2024 (and later graced the tracklist to Am I Okay?, last year’s third-biggest Billboard 200 debut from a female Country artist). Next, the Georgia-bred singer/songwriter treated listeners to a sing-along-ready rendition of her breakthrough single “Tennessee Orange” — a 3X PLATINUM No. 1 hit that went viral when she was still unsigned, quickly propelling her into Country stardom. And in a ravishing finale, Moroney turned up the energy and launched into the pure euphoria of Am I Okay?’s PLATINUM title track (a Top 15 hit at Country radio), ending her Tiny Desk Concert on a gloriously high note, and earning a glowing rave from NPR, "like all great country music, her songs reveal deeper and universal truths in life's smallest and messiest moments."

Airing a week after Moroney took the stage at Extra Innings Festival in Tempe, Arizona, her Tiny Desk debut marks the start of a spectacular month for one of Country’s brightest stars. She’s then set to take the stage at Austin’s ACL Live at the Moody Theater for Rolling Stone’s third annual Future of Music showcase presented by JBL for this year’s SXSW festival. A week after, she’ll embark on the AM I OKAY? TOUR — a major North American headline run that begins on March 20 in Montreal and includes stops at iconic venues like Radio City Music Hall in New York City (on March 26 and 27), Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, and the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. After the first week of tour dates, Moroney will head to Los Angeles on March 29 to receive the Rulebreaker Award plus perform at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music event — the latest in a steady stream of accolades that most recently includes winning New Artist of the Year at the 2024 CMA Awards.
