Country Thunder — the largest Country music festival brand in North America — just hosted the biggest, brightest, and boldest iteration of Country Thunder Arizona yet over the weekend. From April 10-13, tens of thousands of festivalgoers descended upon Canyon Moon Ranch, in Florence, AZ and enjoyed four days of top-notch performances, camping, cuisine, and a community like no other.
Energy practically overflowed from the stage all four nights as headliners Riley Green, Keith Urban, HARDY, Bailey Zimmerman, plus many more gave knockout performances to the packed crowd. Highlights included, Green bringing out fellow Thursday Main Stage performers, Tucker Wetmore and Drew Green, for an iconic medley in tribute to Toby Keith; Urban finishing his Friday night set with a confetti-filled “Wasted Time,” only to return to the stage to play “Making Memories Of Us” solely on the acoustic guitar, and HARDY bringing out Ashley McBryde for a power rendition of his PLATINUM hit “wait in the truck (feat. Lainey Wilson).”
Adding to the festival vibes, attendees were treated to thrill-seeking rides, carny-style fare, and an array of vendors from custom hat-trimming to tattoos, plus highpoints such as the Kimes Ranch Songwriter Showcase, which connected fans with the hit songs heard on the Main Stage from the writers who crafted them. Local Arizona talent showcased on the Copperhead Stage, while campers enjoyed line dancing competitions and dance parties with DJ Griffin Green in the Electric Thunder attraction.
Receiving acclaim, az central captured the weekend with a series of photos, and Arizona’s Family applauded how “Country Thunder roars in Arizona.” Phoenix New Times professed, “If you’re just there for the tunes, this year’s headliners include such superstar recording artists as Keith Urban, HARDY, Riley Green and Bailey Zimmerman. If you're in it for the party, Country Thunder is equally notorious for its rowdy, anything-goes campground scene.” Tucker Wetmore appeared on 12 News NBC to discuss the fest.
Country Thunder Arizona also excitedly welcomed its “One Millionth Fan,” Lacey Culpepper, who was attending the festival for the first time and became the lucky recipient of Platinum Experience tickets and a campsite FOR LIFE, exclusive autographed memorabilia and festival merch, a Kimes Ranch Western Wear prize pack valued at $250, a Dixxon Flannel on-site shopping spree for $250, and a $500 Lifted Trucks prize pack and swag bag.
