SKYVILLE LIVE AMPED IT UP WITH A GUITAR-FUELED SHOW FEATURING LEGENDARY ZZ TOP FRONTMAN BILLY F GIBBONS
On Tuesday night (5/24), the Emmy-nominated, groundbreaking online music series Skyville Live amped it up with a mesmerizing, guitar-fueled concert anchored by legendary ZZ Top frontman Billy F Gibbons. The unique live performance also featured country music rocker Frankie Ballard, internationally-acclaimed guitar slinger Orianthi, soulful powerhouse ZZ Ward, and Grammy-nominated songwriter and musician Mike Henderson.
Gibbons immediately set the tone for the show when he opened with “Waitin' for the Bus" and "Jesus Just Left Chicago,” followed by “Got Love If You Want It” and “Treat Her Right.”
The guest artists followed suit with Ward performing her empowering “365 Days,” Ballard showing off his guitar chops on new song “Cigarette,” Orianthi slaying Jimi Hendrix’s “Voodoo Child,” and Henderson bringing the crowd to their feet in one of the evening’s true highlights with “Pay Bo Diddley,” featuring Skyville Live’s producer Wally Wilson on the keyboard.
Each of the featured performers commanded with their own material – so much so, in fact, that Gibbons was “in a daze” after Orianthi, and had to take a moment before returning to the stage with “Sharp Dressed Man,” alongside Ward and Orianthi. Gibbons then closed the show by leaving the online viewers and packed room speechless with “La Grange,” joined by Ballard and Henderson.
