4TH ANNUAL CRAIG CAMPBELL CELEBRITY CORNHOLE CHALLENGE RAISES $35,000 FOR COLORECTAL CANCER
RED BOW Records’ artist Craig Campbell hosted the “4th Annual Craig Campbell Celebrity Cornhole Challenge” Tuesday (6/7) in honor of his late father who lost his battle with the disease at age 36. Fellow country stars Blackjack Billy, Brett Kissel, Canaan Smith, Jerrod Niemann, Kristian Bush, Lauren Alaina, Mary Sarah, Matt Stillwell, Michael Ray, Thompson Square, Trailer Choir and wife Mindy played in support of this year’s event in downtown Nashville, TN. The tournament came down to Team Canaan Smith and Team Craig Campbell, with the event’s host ultimately being crowned the winner for 2016. As a national spokesperson for the cause, Campbell strives to raise awareness and funds for colorectal cancer education, research and prevention. This year, the event raised over $35,000.
“We had a huge day! All my friends came out, we raised a ton of money and I feel like we educated more people about colon cancer,” enthused Campbell. “Success!”
Campbell is currently climbing the country radio charts with new single “Outskirts of Heaven” that he co-wrote with Dave Turnbull (Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton) and Rolling Stone Country describes as “a ballad with a sweeping, Nineties-style twang.” Following 2015’s “Tomorrow Tonight,” he has been in the studio with producer Mickey Jack Cones working on his RED BOW Records debut album. Having shared the stage with Randy Houser, Alan Jackson, The Band Perry, Jerrod Niemann and Justin Moore, he is currently touring across the U.S. and will be playing major fairs and festivals throughout the summer.
