12-YEAR-OLD COUNTRY MUSIC SENSATION TEGAN MARIE DELIVERS AN ALL-STAR PERFORMANCE OF THE NATIONAL ANTHEM AT THE U.S. WOMEN’S NATI

With a voice beyond her years, 12-year-old country music sensation Tegan Marie sent the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team off to the 2016 Olympic Games with a momentous performance of the national anthem in Kansas City, KS, Friday (7/22). As RARE Country hailed, “The little girl with the larger-than-life voice delivered a stunning performance of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’... The national anthem is considered by many singers to be one of the hardest songs to perform, but it was a piece of cake for Tegan.” Taking the music world by storm, earlier this year Tegan Marie released “Lucky Me” with proceeds benefitting the kids in her hometown of Flint, MI, who were affected by the water crisis. Her soul-stirring rendition of Florida Georgia Line’s #1 hit single, “H.O.L.Y.,” racked up 14.8 million Facebook views to date, made the band take notice and scored her an US Weekly stamp of approval in their “Buzzzz-o-Meter.” The young sensation is at it again, with her cover of Luke Bryan’s “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day” nearing five million Facebook views. Her performance of the national anthem on ESPN Friday further proved her undeniable talent and her ability to sing live on a national stage.

Continuing her impressive momentum, Tegan Marie kicks off August supporting country star Hunter Hayes in Las Vegas, NV on the 6th and Farmingville, NY on the 13th. On August 27, the superstar-in-the-making will perform at the 2016 Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day on August 27 in Flushing Meadows, NY.  The annual single-day grassroots tennis and entertainment event is the largest in the world, and takes place the Saturday before the U.S. Open. Not only do the biggest names in the tennis world get involved in the iconic day honoring tennis legend and humanitarian Arthur Ashe, but some of music’s hottest acts once appeared on their way to superstardom, including Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys and Justin Bieber.

ABOUT TEGAN MARIE:

Following her CMA Music Festival debut on the Radio Disney Country stage in June, Tegan Marie has had a busy summer of dates, including opening slots for country star Hunter Hayes. The charismatic youngster continues to win hearts (and score online views in the millions) with her pitch-perfect interpretations of hit songs like Kelsea Ballerini’s “Love Me Like You Mean It” – which led to her performing the track while being accompanied on guitar by Ballerini herself. In between performances, she keeps busy writing and recording songs that display a talent far beyond her young age, as demonstrated in late 2015 with her holiday single “A Christmas Tree,” which was featured on SiriusXM, Radio Disney, Pandora, and more.

Tegan Marie was born in Grand Blanc, Michigan, a suburb of Flint, in 2003. She picked up a guitar at 6, wrote love songs at 8, and was playing national stages by 11. Her sweet, clean vocals and sensitive interpretations have tween and teen girls across the nation clamoring for more, and she was recently discovered by girls media company Sweety High after she shared her videos on their site. In their words, she is “your new obsession.”
