JAMBO COUNTRY CONTINUES THE JAMBOREE IN THE HILLS TRADITION WITH NEW NAME, SAME SPIRIT – JULY 13 - 15
Back to celebrate its 41st year with an all new name and logo – but in the same spirit of good times and country music – 2017’s Jambo Country music festival will take place over three days from July 13 – 15, once again drawing more than 100,000 fans to Belmont County, Ohio.
Formerly known as Jamboree in the Hills, the fans that have attended this landmark festival for decades have always called it “Jambo.” As a nod to these diehards we’ve changed our name, but not our approach. Like the new tagline says: “Come for the music, stay for the party.”
Nightly headliners for this year’s Jambo Country are some of the top talents in the genre, including multi-PLATINUM artist Thomas Rhett on Thursday (7/13), RIAA’s top digital Country male artist of all time Jason Aldean on Friday (7/14) and seven-time GRAMMY award-winning trio Lady Antebellum on Saturday (7/15).
“Jambo fans are the most dedicated country music fans in the world. We value their patronage to our event and know that they will love Jambo Country! It will incorporate some of the traditions of the past but will bring new life to the party with new products and an overall upgraded festival experience,” said General Manager Kelly Tucker-Jones.
Since its original founding in 1977, Jambo Country has become one of the most beloved country festivals in America, and this year returns to the rolling hills of Eastern Ohio, centrally located between Cleveland, Columbus and Pittsburgh. More than 100,000 fans from the Tri-State area and beyond will take part in the daily celebration of all things country, but now the party will be even bigger.
All new elements this year include premium “Jambo-Glam!” luxury camping packages, campsites with electric hook-ups, “Parking Lot After Parties,” a free Wednesday night concert presented by Panhandle Cleaning & Restoration, VIP ticketing options with reserved viewing area, private restrooms and access to an exclusive bar area, expanded concessions with new vendors and for the first time, free showers for all on-site campers.
A new alcohol policy means that no outside alcohol or coolers will be permitted inside the venue for Jambo Country 2017, but beer, wine and liquor will be available for sale inside the venue. Patrons will be still be permitted to have their own alcohol at their campsite.
Likewise, Jambo Country will continue the festival’s most cherished traditions, including the famed “Redneck Run” each morning and the up-close-and-personal fan photo aisle in front of the main stage. As always, chairs and canopies will still be allowed in the upper section of the venue, and a spectacular fireworks show will once again cap off the festival, which this year takes place on Saturday night.
Ticket sales for Jambo Country begin with a one-day only sale next Thursday (12/15) from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. ET, with exclusive deals on three-day passes and camping only. This will be a Jambo camper’s best shot at the absolute lowest prices on three-day passes and three-day VIP packages, a purchase that will surely make a great holiday gift for any country fan.
Tickets for the one-day sale will be available via www.jambocountry.com, onsite at the Belmont venue or charge by phone at 1-800-594-TIXX.
Jambo Country is co-presented by WTOV9, WOVK-Wheeling, WPGB-Pittsburgh, WCOL-Columbus and iHeart Country. To purchase tickets and find out more about the festival, please visit www.jambocountry.com.
