CASH CAMPBELL BLASTS OFF WITH DEBUT SINGLE "CANNONBALL"
Attention-grabbing breakout artist CASH CAMPBELL has burst onto the Country scene with his explosive debut single, “Cannonball,” the first taste of the singer-songwriter’s fearless new brand of progressive Country.
Fusing the heart-on-your-sleeve honesty of Texas Country with the irresistible pulse of electronic dance music, “Cannonball” has already left its mark on millions of early-adopting fans, cracking the Top 40 of the Music Row Chart and booming its way up the Billboard Country Indicator chart at the same time. So far, Campbell has tallied over 17 million streams and views on his digital content, including the intensely vibrant video for “Cannonball.”

“While we were in the process of writing ‘Cannonball,’ I had an intense dream that formed the foundation of the lyrics. If everything came crashing down, but you still have the person you love… you can make it," said Campbell. "For me, the song brings to life a message of how powerful love is and it’s been really encouraging to hear what it means to fans.”
It’s the Dallas-area native’s first release – but far from his last – as the golden-voiced artist continues to break down sonic barriers with genre-defying tracks like “Don’t Wanna Think About It” and “Little Things.” Campbell has been working with Swedish producer Peer Astrom and Nashville-based Chris LaCorte to bring fresh creative juice into current Country.
The rising talent is also celebrating the early success of his follow-up releases, with “Don’t Wanna Think About It” featured on Spotify’s Wild Country playlist and “Little Things” on the digital streaming giant’s New Alternative playlist – again highlighting his genre-crossing approach to music.
Friday (5/18) marks the release of his captivating original track “Gravity” to all digital streaming platforms. The vibey performance video, filmed live in New York City, is now available on YouTube.

Meanwhile, Campbell has just delivered a stirring, high-rise performance as part of AXS’ Patio Sessions video series, and is also featured in the May digital edition of POPSTAR, who said he “Opens his Southern heart to the world, writing songs based on his own experiences. Adding a sonic twist of electronic beats to his musical style, his fresh, new sound is getting major love all around the world.” Campbell has also been highlighted in recent features by online tastemakers MegaCountry and the Gen-Z girls' media platform, Sweety High.
After spending 2017 on the road opening select dates for Granger Smith, Campbell will pop the top on another high-profile performance Wednesday (5/16), appearing at the hugely popular Live in the Vineyard Goes Country mini-festival in the wine-making region of Napa Valley, California.
About Cash Campbell:
A “true representation of current country for the next generation” (CMT) newcomer Cash Campbell is bursting onto the music scene with his debut song “Cannonball.” With its lush sonic palate – glittering, guttural and ethereal – it’s no wonder that fans around the globe are already captivated by Campbell as he continues to rack up MILLIONS of streams on multiple platforms. After growing up singing in a small-town Texas choir and spearheading several different rock-focused bands over the years, Campbell’s deep-running Lone Star roots began to show as his solo career took shape. Channeling those influences but looking to stand apart from the Country pack, Campbell teamed up with Peer Astrom (the Swedish composer partly responsible for Glee's soundtrack) and musician Chris LaCorte. Together they honed in on a sound that handpicks the best musical elements from each of their hometowns – down-to-Earth realism from Dallas, relatable songwriting from Nashville and irresistible electronic energy from Stockholm – fusing them into a mix that exists in a lane of its own. Out of the gate, CMT selected Campbell for their Artist Discovery initiative and world premiered the glowing, vibrant video for “Cannonball” in 2017. His Southern heart and worldly mind are fully evident on new tracks “Don’t Wanna Think About It” and “Little Things,” and each of the three tracks are available now on all digital retailers, with details about new music coming soon.
